Privacy Policy — Price Alert
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Price Alert (“the extension”) helps you track product prices and get notified when they drop. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
What is stored, and where
Everything the extension saves is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local):
- Watchlist: product page links, product names, target prices, the prices we found, a price history, and whether you turned on email alerts for an item.
- Settings: your email address and email webhook URL (if you enter them), your Amazon Associates tag and affiliate redirect template (if you enter them), and how often prices are checked.
The developer does not run servers that receive or store this data. Nothing is synced to an account.
Requests the extension makes
- Product pages: to check a price, the extension requests the product page you added from the store’s website, without cookies or your login. The store can see these requests, as with any visit to its site.
- Email alerts (optional): when you turn on email alerts for an item and enter an email address and webhook, the extension sends your email address, the product link, the price, and the alert reason to the webhook URL you entered. Only that endpoint receives this data. Its own privacy policy governs what it does with it.
- Deal links: when you open a deal from the extension, the link is sent to the store, along with the developer’s affiliate ID, so the developer earns a commission if you buy. Affiliate networks and stores may set cookies on your browser when you follow a link.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect analytics or usage statistics.
- It does not sell or share your data with anyone.
- On each page you visit, a small script checks the page locally to decide whether to show the “Add to Price Alert” button. That check stays in your browser; the page content is not sent anywhere unless you click the button.
Affiliate disclosure
Deal links opened from this extension may earn the developer a commission at no extra cost to you.
Your control
- Remove any item from the watchlist at any time.
- Clear your email address and webhook in the options page to stop email alerts.
- Uninstalling the extension removes all of its locally stored data.
